Are there any cases in which 702Z will
suffer from dew condensation? |
 |
The
formation of condensation may be expected when the chilled
water of 5 degree C at ambient temperature of 36 degree C,
humidity exceeds 85%. |
|
 |
We
can forecast the probability of condensation with the following test.
-Put the valve in a tank in which temperature and humidity kept constant and
circulate the cooling water for 4 to 5 hours.
-Measure the surface temperature of the body and check the surface condition
visually.
-The valve tested was 200mm 702Z. Graph-2 shows the result at fluid temperature
of 5,7,9 degree C.
-Graph-1 shows the change of condensation formation point at each ambient temperature.
-In reality, atmospheric temperature and humidity is not always constant. Hence
we forecast the probability of condensation by using the results of the visual
check method. These results are shown in Table-1. The range of condensation is
also shown in Figure-1.
-According to our results, we predict that condensation will occur on part of
the top flange when humidity exceeds 80%, ie in a condition when the fluid is
cold water at 5 degree C with an ambient air temperature of 36 degree C.
(The whole top flange will experience condensation when humidity exceeds 85%)
-The forecast data shown is based on limited testing under laboratory conditions. |
